Minimizing construction impacts

Expansion + Enhanced Employee Experience

The Georgetown location of a global logistics and supply chain company was about to expand its capacity and outgrow their office space. To meet the needs of 500 new employees, the office space needs to be expanded, a larger cafeteria is needed, and overall, the environment needs to be contemporary and welcoming.

To expedite the design and build of the expansion to meet corporate requirements for the soon-to-be-hired employees.

To create multiple spaces, including office space and cafeteria with employee social area.

To not impact daily operations during the construction phase of the project.

Our team’s design solution for 18,000 square feet of additional usable space featured the creation of two, centrally-located mezzanine levels. This not only minimizes downtime but will also allows for greater employee efficiency in their new office space.

The new cafeteria is designed to be multi-functional, i.e, it can be used as an event space for hosting functions, and employees can have fun and socialize there.

For this new casual employee area, we focused on morale-boosting elements and design that would create a welcoming experience for socializing/entertainment (with air hockey, table soccer, and pool). This fun environment is a key point of difference to help attract new employees.

The Glendale Group successfully provided a solution that expanded the logistics provider’s office space and cafeteria to accommodate 500 new personnel. The new design provided the necessary additional space while minimizing the impact of construction on the client’s business operations. The employee area was designed to provide comfort and attract new personnel, while also improving morale. Our teams were committed to ensuring that construction did not impact the employees’ productivity and the company’s overall operations.
